I will start my car and hit the brakes to change to drive and my lights will act like they are going out. My car also sounds like it wants to stop and I have to restart it. I don’t know if it needs a new battery or spark plugs or what.

Sounds electrical, check the battery and alternator. My car started doing someting similar, except the car would actually die and everything would go nuts…it was one of the cords connected to the alternator that kpet coming out.
Maybe have a look at the fuses, and replace them.

There may be a leak in your car’s vaccuum boosted power brake system. A drop in engine manifold vaccuum could cause a drop in engine RPM and produce results like you’re seeing. Have it checked out by a mechanic that you trust in your area. It could be a safety issue.

could be a number of things timing, tune up, it is more mechanical than electrical batteries start the car then they sit there alternator works off the batteries creating volts. if you turn the headlight on and they start dimming alternator is bad batteries if your car dont start so look for timing or air fuel mixture wich several sensors are involved also if you have no take off power along with what you describe check exhaust system for restrictions like catalityc converter clogged or muffler place you hand at tail pipe and compare to a good running car there shouldnt be much difference ( at idle )

could also be a vacuum line. you can get a vacuum diagram for your car thru the manufacturer or a public library
