I have a 6 cylinder 2 drive 19994 Jeep Cherokee that is stalling while idling. I’ve noticed it does not stall while in park but only while I am stopped in Drive. I can restart it by putting the jeep into neutral and trying again.
All the fluids have always been topped up and it has a new battery. If anyone can offer any advice on what they cause could be it would be greatly appreciated!
Merry Christmas.
And the transmission is auto..
- Drove car over 1ft of standing water at night in the rain. Car still runs, but what should I do now?
- What are the main precautions when driving a car in rain ?
- My car just stopped, lost power, power steering, brakes?
- My car seem to be losing power when I hit the brakes, does anyone know what is wrong with my car?
- Car lost momentum, and lost power steering/brakes?

I take it thats its an auto. When its in park or neutral its free to idle, when you engage drive then the revs will drop a little as its ready to move on. Its like its found the biting point on a manual. You just need to turn the idle up a bit and it will be fine.
