BMW ConnectedDrive is the next-generation of BMW iDrive car-control system. The system connects to a BlackBerry smartphone over Bluetooth and places all text messages and emails on the iDrive display. You can also make phone calls with the phone. If a phone number is placed inside a text or email message, the ConnectedDrive system recognizes the phone number format and allows you to call that number.

@maaitah I’m pretty sure it would work for iPhone, BMW has lots of other iPhone stuff too, like you can use it as a remote for your car, and sync your music. So I don’t see why it wouldn’t sync emails and texts too.
is that blackberry pearl g for t mobile?
Will need to have in-car push notification to the BMW office system for this to be of real use. Also speech recognition for short replys to text messages will be important. And if course integration with the iPhone which I would be surprised if this was not available.
Cool, but what about Nokia? Iphone? Android phones? any plans for them?
